Lord, I am lost. Please take my hand and lead me down the path You have lovingly prepared for me.
Like a wayward child who, despite a mother’s tender care, chooses to follow a stranger, I have often turned away from You. Although I know the consequences of disobedience, I still falter. We are drawn to fleeting pleasures that can lead to our downfall, ignoring the enduring effects. Just as we chose the forbidden fruit despite knowing the consequences, we continue to stray from Your abundant provision. In our misguided pursuits, we often choose the world over Your ways and then lament our choices. Lord, broaden our vision to see beyond our selfish desires. Our egos cast shadows over the blessings You offer. Remind us that life is about Your boundless love for us, not just about ourselves.
Please, Lord, guide us when we begin to drift away. Our worldly attachments have become so ingrained that they seem natural to us. We have grown so dependent on them that we find it hard to let go. Remind us to practice gratitude, to be generous to those in need, to be considerate of our neighbors, and to show kindness in every interaction.
Help us also, Lord, to be beacons of Your light in the world. Let Your brilliance shine through our good deeds, so we may spread Your word and goodness to all corners of the earth.
Heavenly Father, we ask all these things in Your holy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord and the Holy Spirit, our ever-present guide.
Amen.
