The Church: Keeper of the Scriptures and Saints' Legacy

The Bible, as we know it today, was carefully compiled and canonized by the Church, under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. This sacred task took place over centuries, involving profound discernment, theological reflection, and a deep commitment to preserving the truth.
Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic

Central to this mission were the Church Fathers—brilliant theologians, scholars, and leaders who played a pivotal role in shaping the canon of Scripture. Saints like Athanasius, who defended the faith during the Arian controversy; Jerome, who painstakingly translated the Scriptures into Latin (the Vulgate); Augustine, whose theological insights have inspired generations; and Irenaeus, who stood firm against heresies while affirming the importance of the four Gospels. These figures, along with countless other saints and martyrs, labored tirelessly to safeguard the Word of God for future generations.

As we honor the Church's role in bringing us the Bible, let us also give thanks for the wisdom, courage, and sanctity of the Church Fathers. Their legacy continues to light our path and guide us in faith.
